Hermes Un Jardin Apres La Mousson is the third fragrance from perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena for Hermes popular Un Jardin (A Garden) series. With brilliant offerings from Ellena in the past En Mediterranee and Sur Le Nil, Apres La Mousson has some big shoes to fill. The fragrance is described as a very vegetal, earthy, but woody and spicy kind of fragrance. It is set to represent Kerala, India right after the Monsoon rains.

When you first spray Apres La Mousson, the first thing you notice is that is very green. The is the vegetative aspect that represents “A Garden After The Monsoon”. There is also a very sweet smell that is watermelon. This brings forth a juicy and nice to enjoy fragrance that only shows us that there is more to come.  As the fragrance develops you get a nice scent that almost smells like nectar or flowery. As the scent dries down, what you get is a woody and spicy character that gives the scent a nice softness to it. All of this is accomplished by Apres La Mousson’s notes such as coriander, pepper, ginger, ginger flower and vetiver. These blend so well to feel you are in a garden after rainfall.

Hemres Un Jardin Apres La Mousson is one of those fragrances that you wear on a warm day. The scents blend well with the heat and humidity and it somehow gives the perfume and extra added ingredient.

The scent really lives up to its name “A Garden After The Monsoon”. I have never been to Kerala, India; however I assume that the fragrance truly captures its essence, especially after all that rainfall. The floral earthiness is captured perfectly.

Un Jardin après la Mousson is different from the past fragrances such as Un Jardin en Mediterranee and Un Jardin Sur Le Nil. It follows along the same path, but has its own character. Some people think it is the worst out of the three, while others love it. It all boils down to personal preference.

Apres La Mousson is touted as a unisex fragrance, and I could see where both women and men can enjoy this wonderful scent. This fragrance is not the best out of the series, but it is still a must have for people who love and enjoy the series. You will get something different and unique to add to your collection.
